Can a Person with Dementia Create a Will?

Yes, a person with mild to moderate dementia can still write a will with the proper precautions.

Perhaps one of the biggest precautions would be to get a letter from your doctor stating that you are still competent to create a last will and testament.

To write and sign a will, a person only needs to know what they have and who they want it to go to. That creates a low burden to writing and signing your will.  You also need to know that you are signing a will.
