What happens to my Walmart 401(k) and associate stock?
Your will doesn’t usually control either one.
Each passes by its own beneficiary form you filled out.
Under federal law, your spouse is the automatic beneficiary of your 401(k) unless they sign a written waiver.
Check both forms. Many people can’t remember what they chose years ago.
If you get divorced, the 401(k) must be dealt with in the divorce.
I moved here for work and signed my will in another state. Is it still good?
Usually, yes. But the people you named may have changed, and your new Arkansas home isn’t in your old trust unless someone moved it there. We’ll look over what you have with your free consultation and tell you what, if anything, needs updating.
