Better Sooner Than Later | Springdale Estate Planning Attorney

I had just finished a probate for dad. Dad only had a simple Will, so his house had to go through probate which could have been avoided.

His brother had inherited half the house and his daughters the other half.

His brother also had a simple will, but hadn’t updated his plan to include the house. His Will wouldn’t keep the house out of probate.

Unfortunately, before the brother updated his plan, he too died.

Now I regretfully have to take the same house through probate again. If the brother had just put a beneficiary on the house, this second Probate could have been completely avoided.

The moral of the story is to get your planning done sooner than later. Or in other words avoid probate before it’s too late.
